About Mark Noorman

My first carp was caught in 1990 and from that day match fishing was pushed to the background. In 1998 I moved from Groningen in the North of Holland to the central Utrecht area which opened a completely different ball game. There was so much more water with many new problems and challenges so the first couple of years I learned a lot. Since the mid-90’s I try to fish in France once or twice a year.  I’ve been actively involved with the Dutch Carp Study Group (KSN) for a long period and was a board member for four years, I find organisations like these crucial for a healthy future of our passion.

With my work as an IT Consultant and a girlfriend and two sons, fishing time is very limited. I see that as a challenge though, forcing me to fish as effectively as possible and make the most of my time on the bank.

I’ve been involved with Fox International for many years and in 2008 I was asked to become a consultant for them, which I happily agreed to. At the same time I was offered sponsorship from Mainline which was also the start of a great new era. Since then I’ve played around with several of the base mixes with Cell and Activ-8 being firm favourites. The rest of the product range is equally impressive with an immense choice of hookbaits, pop-ups, dips and groundbaits. Joining Mainline has definitely enhanced and improved my fishing!

Testimonials

Well what can I say about Mainline Baits. I’ve been using their products exclusively for the last three years and saying I’m impressed is an understatement. The baits they produce are absolutely unique and the level of quality unequalled. Since using their boilies I’ve been able to consistently catch more than other anglers and catch fish I, or others, never even suspected swimming there. Carp simply start eating it from the moment they encounter it, and never stop…

What I admire in the Mainline philosophy is the diversity of the developed baits and the constant search for new formulas, ingredients and combinations. Each bait in their portfolio is so very different meaning there’s always one perfectly suitable for your water regardless of the angling pressure, time of year or other circumstances. And on top of that there’s an enormous range of extremely attractive hi-visual and boilie matching pop-ups in several sizes and shapes, dumbbell hookbaits, pellets, soaks, liquids and groundbaits.

This range is simply awesome and I have absolutely no reason to look at other baits whatsoever. Use them and you simply know that’s one thing less to worry about in your quest for carp.

Publicity

Write regularly for Dutch carp magazines Dé Karperwereld and Spiegel Magazine and all-round fishing magazine Hét Visblad. I’ve also published in foreign magazines like Carpworld, UK Carp and Carp In Focus.
