Mainline consultant, Darren Belton has been in contact recently to let us know about another 'big-fish' result! Over to Darren to take up the story:
"The lake I've been fishing has been closed for a month to allow the fish to spawn. Following this well deserved rest for the fish an 'opening night' draw was taken and although the swim I drew was okay, when I found my mate Chris would be leaving in the morning and he had drawn one of my favourite swims, I made the decision to have my barrow behind him at first light.
As soon as he had gone I set about depositing 5-kilos of Hybrid boilies amongst the heavy weed of the swim, swiftly followed by my Clockwork Orange hookbaits. I had to wait until midnight for my first bite, a cracking 38lb 10oz mirror. A small common followed and as soon as it got light I topped up with another 5-kilos of bait. Four twenty-pound fish to 28lb followed and then another cracking mirror of 34lb 4oz to finish off a great session! Happy days!"
