Carping4Heroes 2012 1st June, 2012

We were extremly pleased to receive the news that the recent Carping4Heroes 2012 fund raising event was a great success and superb weekend where a grand total of £5,369 was raised for Help for Heroes.

In an event supported by much of the angling industry and press, we were more than happy to also lend our support, but we must say the real praise must go to everyone involved in organising the event where a team of carpers from the Army took on a civilian team.
  The match itself was fished in difficult conditions, however both teams persisted and a few fish were landed with the civilian team running out eventual winners with an overall weight of 50lb 3oz, the winning pair was Jason Trought and Aron Roberts of the civilian team with a weight of 39lb 14oz and Jason also won overall individual winner with a weight of 29lb 13oz and biggest fish with a common carp of 21lb 8oz, although the Army team were runners up they played their part in a memorable weekend and with next year’s event already being planned, the Army team we surely be seeking revenge next year.
