About David Chancellor

I guess I really became serious about big carp fishing in the early eighties. Fishing local day ticked waters I became fixated with the visions of large rubbery lips sucking bits of crust delicately from the surface. The challenge of successfully fooling one of those then monsters into sucking in your hook-bait became an addiction. Of course, all those years ago a twenty was a huge fish and at the age of 14 I managed to catch my first one at 22.00lb. I can still remember every detail about the capture, those type of memories are what your love and addiction for this sport are built on. Throughout the mid to late eighties I progressed onto the more serious carp waters known as “syndicates” one of my favourites being the Church Pool in Pattingham where I caught my first 30lb Mirror and Common carp.

During the late eighties and early nineties I was lucky enough to fish some fantastic Shropshire estate lakes and it was here that my association with Mainline was formed. Being a mere “Kid” on these venues the somewhat more mature and shall we say more experienced members were utterly amazed at the successes I had. Catching the entire stock of one lake during my first season and almost all the target fish from another during my second season. Captures included a 46.08lb and 49.12lb Commons in the same day and a 24 fish haul including 7 upper thirties in 24 hours fishing. Needless to say, many of the members pretty quickly switched to Mainline!! After several years working abroad I returned to these same venues and adopted the same methods and approach only this time armed with the New Grange. Guess What? Results were exactly the same, I caught them all again.

Over the last few years I have spent most of my fishing time on a private local syndicate were results have been exceptional. Using the New Grange I managed to catch almost twice the amount of fish compared to other members including many upper thirties and a 41.04lb common. All this despite being limited to short sessions.  More recently I set my challenges further afield and joined a lovely private Essex club water. This water is known to hold some tremendous specimens and I was truly excited about the prospects of catching some of them. Imagine my delight when only four sessions in I have landed a dozen fish including unbelievable brace of mirrors weighing 49.08lb and 51.00lb. The bait…… a new Mainline prototype…… watch this space, thank you Mainline.

Testimonials

I have been associated with Mainline baits and the use of their fantastic products for around 20 years. The minute I opened my first bag of original Grange boilies I was hooked, and more importantly so were the fish. Mainlines innovation in bait development continually provides me as an angler with all the weapons I need to achieve the high standards I set myself and stay one step ahead! In this ever increasingly competitive industry you need all the advantages you can get and by using Mainline baits, it’s clear, I have an advantage.

The longevity of baits such as Active-8 and Grange combined with the awesome performance of more recent development such as the Cell are testament alone to the quality and reliability of the Mainline range. I firmly believe that the successes I have encountered over the years are largely due to Mainlines ability to produce bait that provides me with complete and utter confidence. With confidence comes belief and with belief comes results.

The results speak for themselves, 28 UK forties, More than 80 UK thirties and to top it all my first UK fifty caught whilst testing a new Mainline prototype, watch this space!

Publicity

For years I have kept myself pretty much to myself with my successes only really being known to those close to me and fellow syndicate members. Several of the lakes I fish have publicity bans meaning that exposure is not always possible. However, I’m sure that if you were to scroll back through editions of Carp Talk and similar publications my mug shot would be apparent. It is only recently that I have decided to put myself more in the public eye, Why? I hear you ask. To be honest, I’m just trying to support those that have so favourably supported me in the past.
