Callum Boyle Well what a brilliant start to 2020 for myself having a great session down on St.Johns. Having to settle for my third option swim after my first 2 choices being taken for a couple of days, I set up in the dugout after finding my spot I introduced some bait and flicked the rods out. It wasn't till the early hours I managed my first bite then i just kept a steady feed of crumbed cell essential cell power particle hemp and corn smothered in matching syrups going in whilst the bites kept coming, chopping and changing hook baits from 12mm shellfish black pepper cell and essential cell pop ups topped with maggot known again seem to keep the bites coming.Before a little change up in the day managing a couple of fish to zigs I managed 19 bites for the session landing 18 having my first 30 of the year and the biggest of the session at 30.6 backed up with 11 x 20s, a 29,8 Ghostie being the biggest, followed up with 6 high doubles I had some real stunners in and amongst my captures. That's why I love fishing St.Johns you just don't know whats gonna be the next fish, size, shape, age or even scale pattern. Was good to put faces to names and meet new lads on the bank whilst catching fish that's what its all about!
