Les Bowers My tuna fishing trip got cancelled because of storms moving in. I had time booked off work but where you go. With the big pit being covered in blue green algae, i didn’t feel confident. I decided to head to my other syndicate. On arriving there were 4 others fishing. I found a few fizzers and set up. Within minutes of casting , the right hand rod ripped off. I picked it up and walked back to take it away from snags. Unfortunately, the hook pulled. I was sure there’d be another chance yet. I catapulted out another 6 pouches of 10mm test bait around each rod. A friend came round and we watched the fizzing over one of my rods. He said , you’re gonna have one from there. Shortly after he departed to find a swim, that rod pulled up tight and stayed there. It was locked up tight on clutch. Picking the rod up again and walking back I got the fish into open water and played it normally on a light ish clutch. Within a few minutes I had it in the net and called my mate to take pics before he set up. It looked a lot bigger than it actually was at 36.04 I was happy with it no matter what. Mainline’s new test bait in 10mm soaked in fish smart liquid, scattered over the gravel/silt spot with a salty squid wafter fished over the top did the trick
