On A Roll!
With a successful session under his belt, Rob Marsh recently returned to the southern park lake for another go and was again rewarded with a superb CELL result! Over to the Mainline consultant for the full story:"After last weeks success I made the 70 mile trip back to the lake and arrived at 6.00pm in total darkness. There was no cars in the car park so I headed to a swim called the 'Curvy boards' where I had landed the 3 fish last week. I got back in to the swim and quickly placed the rods out on the spots, Cell pop ups fished with chod rigs incorporating Atomic size 6 chodda hooks and the new chod wyre stiff filament. The rig was fished on a choppa droppa leadcore system. A scattering of Hinders pellet combo and Mainline Responce pellets and a few Cell 14mm baits were placed around each hookbait. With rods out I soon sat back and enjoyed a cuppa, the rain was tipping down and I was drying out nicely! At 4.45am I lost a fish due to a hookpull after being caught in a unseen snag it was not until first light when I was playing another very angry carp I had the fish wallowing and I soon slid the net under a very dark mirrior. The fish, a mirror went 42lb 6oz! I was well happy and I knew I had to do another night. Well I did another night same tactics as before and again I received 2 bites a 25lb 4oz and a 32lb 6oz mirrors and went to work once again very happy! Hopefully they'll still be feeding next week?"
