About Kieran Panchal

I started fishing almost five years ago at the age of 11, when a neighbour introduced me to the sport. He took me to my local pond, Netteswell just a two minute walk from my house, and kitted me out with everything I needed to get going. I recall catching 27 gudgeon and two roach on my first session. I continued fishing at Netteswell for anything that would eat a maggot presented on a size 16 hook under a probably too-heavy float for about a year after that, before seeing some older lads catching some carp from the pond; making me want to try it.

And so I began carping and having a few nice ones from the pond too. Shortly after that, I introduced Harry Law into the sport – my best friend from school. From there we began fishing every Essex day ticket lake that we could get to - almost every weekend. Equipped with two rods and either half a bag of shelflife boilies or a tin of luncheon meat and corn. We were pretty consistent, until we came up against one lake that we struggled on a bit. Then we clicked that it could be the bait? We each put six quid in together and bought our first kilo of Cell – and it started to work! This gave us the confidence in the bait to try out some more bits in the Mainline range, and to this day we haven’t yet been disappointed with anything.

From there we began making our blogs on YouTube called DayTicketCarp. One thing led to another and we gratefully began to receive support from Mainline Baits and Taska.

Currently, I am a member of Carthagena Fisheries, Brooke Lake. This year is my first on there and I hope to have some success!
