About Carl Smith
Having fished since age 9 my first 10 years were spent targeting roach, pike, perch and barbel. Only later did I get hooked on carping. Trips to the Netherlands, USA and Japan have been highlights of my carp fishing life, but still the most memorable are special old carp caught closer to home

I’ve written for Improve Your Coarse Fishing, Anglers Mail, Angling Times, Carpology and Crafty Carper, yet sadly some of these publications have now ceased printing. In 2019 I wrote a guidebook for beginner anglers but most of my time is spent making films for YouTube.
