David Bush It was my birthday weekend and although it was nice spending time with the family I was dying to get some fishing time in to catch myself a birthday fish. I turned up on my local syndicate Sunday morning to find only one other member fishing but as always he was in my favourite "confident" swim. So this forced me into another swim I'd not fished much before, with it all being quiet for a couple of hours I noticed a fish show a couple of times to my left approx 50-60 yards out in 18 foot depth of water, so decided to move my left rod which was on a margin spot, out to the showing fish, I fished a 15mm Cell pop up on a Ronnie rig right on the spot I'd seen the fish show, I then fired a mixture of Iso Sweet and Essential Cell free offerings over the spot, within 30 mins the left rod was hooped round and the buzzer singing as I hit into my first fish, after a good battle in the margin I had the Common in the net. I went on to catch a further 4 fishing making it 5 fish in total, all on the same tactics, Cell pop up hookbait and every time I had a fish I topped up the spot with approx 20 mixed Iso sweet and essential Cell free offerings.
