Les Bowers What a fantastic 48hrs fishing I’ve had with my guest at Frimley. I auctioned myself off for the Frimley pits charity event last year. The guy that won the auction ended up being offered a full ticket as he had just finished pit 1. So he kindly gave his mate, Stu Parsons, the opportunity to fish pit 3 with me. Turned out hot and the fish just weren’t interested the first day. Then we had rain, and this seemed to liven the fish up for a bit of a feed. I had a screaming take on my middle rod and after a little battle , landed this pristine common of 36LB. I really wanted Stu to catch and told him to put his rod on that spot as I thought there was a chance of another from there. He made the cast first time and we sat and waited …….not long mind as he was soon grabbing his rod as the alarm signalled a fast take. After a good tussle I netted another lovely Frimley common for him. At 39.08 it was a cracking PB for him. I was over the moon for him. Mission accomplished!! All fish were caught over the new Mainline test bait, chopped and whole, and pink squid pop ups. I used Gardner ultra sink and an incisor size 5 tied as a multi rig Now it’s time to get back to the Big Pit next Friday for an overnighter. But the week after that I can get a bit of time in there. Fingers and toes crossed for a result there too.
