David Messom Had a smashing session at Combley lakes on the Isle of Wight this weekend. Arrived there Friday 20th in the morning with two of my mates and drew last on picking our swims. Little did I know that this would go in my favour as I had the session of a lifetime! That first day, just a few hours in, I had already caught 3 fish and beaten my PB twice! A 40lb mirror and a 45.4lb common, I was made up. This however was just the start as the next day, my fourth catch was the new lake record, an absolute monster of a carp weighing in at 62lb 10oz. Unbelievable! I finished the session with 6 fish in total, a 28lb linear, a 32lb fully scaled, 3 at 40-45lb and the beast of them all the lovely 62lb 10oz mirror. Both of my mates did get a piece of the action with Mason reeling in a 48lb whopper and Callum with a 50lb mirror, new PB's for both of them. Overall, what a cracking session we had.
