After arriving at the Lake knowing the last fish caught on the bottom was back in November so My thoughts were on zigs.. walking around and chatting with the lads I changed my mind i decided to take a completely different approach as they were all zigging with little action over the last 6 days. I stuck a bucket in the point and continued to lap tge Lake where I'd seen a couple of show at the other end on the front of the n/e.. I sat for a while continuing to watch the water and seen a couple more shows on a bar at approximately 12 wraps out so my mind was made up I walked down and grabbed the bucket I previously put down the other end. After setting up things were looking slow as the few shows I saw had stopped, so I decided to washing line 1 over to the right hand margin, 1 on the bar and 1 I'd zig.. After setting up with the rods out nothing was happening which I kind of thougt as of the time of year on church was hit and miss, The following day soon arrived and still no action but I noticed a few shows over my baited spot so I decided to knock the zig on the head and go for 2 on the bar. Still nothing so I thought I'd rest the swim for a couple of hours with 3 more spombs to tempt any thing in. The rods wend back out at around 2pm all set. Sat there looking at the water I noticed a couple of feeding shows on the 2 rods on the bar and a slight indication on the bobbin... still sat 10 minutes later with the same a few bleeps etc.. I slipped into the waders and within seconds the rod melted off with a reasonable battled it ended up in the net, 34lb of linchhill mirror, I retained it and stuck the rod out as down as I could with another 3 spombs... rod back out pics done.. I sat looking at the water when once again the alarm with a slight bleep... I now knew there were a couple of carp feeding so waders on and boom it melted with another 30lb in the net.. rod back out, soon after that whilst I was chating to a friend ge rod agsin melted off this time with a 28lb safe in the net.. the next day soon was here with the weather taking a turn getting colder so things slowed right down as the few carp moved off of the front of the easterly. A brace of 30ss and a 28 was more than enough considering nothing had been out off the bottom since November.. for me it was job done
