Ian Pettitt When walking my syndicate lake this week I’d constantly found carp in a bay at the end of the pit. When I arrived for my session I dropped a bucket in the only swim that fished into it and went for a walk to see if I could see any signs elsewhere. With no further sighting I decided to fish the bay and set about getting my stuff sorted. To get the bait and rigs in position quickly I decided to get my boat out and drop the rigs and bait up from this. All 3 rods went down with firm drops and a spread of response pellets and the link 15mm boilies were spread around each spot. From just after dark till midnight I had a serious amount of liners across all 3 rods but no takes materialised. I was up watching the water as it got light and the coots moved in and decided to start diving on all of my spots. This went on for several hours before suddenly they disappeared and less then 10 minutes later a single bleep on my right rod which was fishing locked up against a reed bed signalled a take and battle commenced. The winning bait a link bottom bait with a yellow topper.
