getting a phone call late Wednesday night asking if i wanted to jump on a social lake exclusive from one of the atomic field testers as someone had dropped out I decided to go as I was itching to get my account open with mainline. i made the drive down to Kent for a night. with carp to the 40lb mark I thought why not. Arriving at the lake Thursday morning i decided to flick out some high leakage pineapple wafters over the top of some sweetcorn and 10mm cell boilies. the rod was only in the water 2 mins before arching round. A heavy battle having to coax the fish round an island it had run me round and shortly after she was in the net. tipping the scales at 35lb and ounces its a pb grassy for my in the uk. not my usual cup of tea but my first fish having made the switch to the mainline team. the rest of the trip i was plagued with catfish to around the 60lb mark. 8 in fact. these definitely weren't what i was there for so i slipped them all back. all the same a rather enjoyable first outing back on the cell after 15 years away from mainline baits.
