Cell, essential ib, pastel barrel wafter
I arrived at the lake after work at around 19.00. After a few hours of unsuccessful stalking I decided that it was time to find some spots for the nights fishing. After an hour or so of searching I found 2 likely spots, one very clean no further than 7 feet out under an overhanging tree in my right margin, the other 64 yards out fished tight to some lilies. I got the rods and spots baited up, with the margin rod opting for a few handfuls of chopped cell mixed with the essential ib with a small pva mesh bag with ground up boilies of the same combination, the other fished with a pineapple pop up with a scattering of 30 to 40 baits over the top. After about 5 minutes I had a couple of bleeps from the margin rod, about 10 seconds later the bobbin hit the blank of the rod and I was thinking - lovely a quick bite after picking up the rod I quickly realized this was no carp, it was unfortunately a bream, this continued on throughout the night and in to the early hours, with 7 further bream landed. However at 4.00 my efforts were rewarded with a one toner from the margin rod, I realised from the run that this was no bream, the fish went on powerful run after powerful run, after what was probably the hardest fight I have ever had from a carp, I slid the net out and thankfully my reward went over the net cord. I then could have a look at my hard earnt prize and was over the moon when I realised it was one of the very few oriental fish in the lake. A few quick snaps and weighing she was safely released.
