About Gary Thomas

I started Carp fishing at the age of 8 when my father used to take me to what were then the Johnson’s pits in Larkfield, Kent. When I was 12 I moved to Cornwall and fished mainly day ticket waters within county. I guess I became seriously hooked in the early 1980’s after discovering College Reservoir where I caught my first 20 pounder. In 1985 I ventured over the channel and spent a few years on venues such as Cassien, Salagou and Orient.  The last 10 years or so have been spent hunting big wild fish in less well known European Rivers and lakes.  Needless to say, my English Carp fishing has taken a back seat in favour of a couple foreign trips each year chasing unknown monsters.
