New Grange Keeps ‘Em Coming! |

Consistent carper, Rob Marsh has been in touch with news from the park lake where the Mainline consultant has enjoyed yet another mega result from a short-session! Over to Rob to take up the story:
With my recent success on the southern park lake, I soon found myself back down on the lake. After a walk around the lake and not really seeing anything, I decided to take another look at a couple of swims I’d originally had in mind. The two swims situated next to each other both controlling their own fair share of water. I sat for about half an hour in between the 2 swims looking for signs of carp when 2 fish showed almost at the same time in a swim to my left. That was enough for me and I quickly set up before dark with just enough time to find a couple of spots to which I despatched 15 spombs of bait, consisting of Hinders Salamiz hemp, crushed hemp as well as chopped and whole New Grange boilies.
After a couple cups of tea I saw a good fish roll over my right hand rod. I got my head down but was woken at 2.30am with a very angry carp trying to escape to freedom, I waded out and slipped the net under a cracking mirror. On the scales she went 29lbs 1oz I got some photos and slipped her back. With the rod back out, I got back in the bag. It was just getting light when I received my next take and after a awesome battle I landed another big mirror that went 38lbs 3ozs on the scales. As I was putting this fish back into the water in the recovery sling, so I could sort out the camera when my other rod burst into life! After another epic battle I eventually slid the net under another big mirror that weighed in at a massive 41lbs 6oz! I was totally buzzing! With the photos and video done there was a large splash by the sling as I released the forty? I picked up the other sling only to find the 38lb carp had escaped from the sling, I was gutted as I did not know which fish it was, but it was a very good session anyway! Happy days!
