I have heard that fruit baits work better during the colder months. Is this true in your experience, and do you change your hookbait and baiting strategy for your winter fishing?
Question 2
I have been using short rigs and have been able to watch the carps reaction when they are feeding over my bait. They are picking up the rigs and getting away with being hooked and then coming back to clear all the freebies up. I am told a long hair will nail them so would like to know how long I should make the hair and rig. I have got the carp feeding on hard gravel in 3' of water. If you think the long hair will not work, what do you think would?
Question 3
My local water has now gone totally clear. The other day I saw a pigeon fly low over the water where the sun was shining, and as it crossed this area a good dozen carp spooked. I know the depth of water there is 12ft. I am thinking of using a Zig Rig, but I have no experience of tying up one of these. Could you suggest any tips that you think might help. I am sure on these sunny days the carp are near the surface.
Question 4
Help! I'm totally lost when barometric pressure is mentioned. First of all, what is it, and how does it play a part in carp fishing? Any help would be great.
