Dear Mainline Team,
I’m fishing with mesh PVA bags but have a problem with the bag coming off on the cast. Can you help?
Greg McNally, Birmingham.
There are many ways of using mesh PVA bags, but a technique I like is a crafty little way of improving your presentation. I’ve been doing it with little whittled-down boilie hookbaits with a tiny handful of mixed pellets. Read the sequence to see how to put this setup together, and give it a try to see if it brings you as much success as it has for me.

Place the hookbait inside the PVA bag so that it is at the very base of the mesh. |
Now fill up the bag with mixed pellet, and tie it off tightly, like this.
Take your boilie needle, and thread it lengthways through the hookbait placed inside the PVA bag earlier. |
Thread the hookbait onto your chosen hair rig, and secure with a boilie stop. |
Now simply nick the hook through the holes in the mesh, like this. |
The finished presentation is a Very Crafty way of offering your baits. |
Good luck,
Jon ‘Shoes’ Jones. |
