From my early carp fishing days, to the present day, I have used many of the Mainline Baits freezer range, including the original Grange, NRG, Active-8, Maple-8 and the latest bait, New Grange and have total confidence in all of them. However during the last 3 years I have used nothing but the Cell. This is undoubtably the best bait I have ever used and has worked from the off no matter what lake I have ever taken it to. Carp simply love it! To date I have caught over 150 30lb carp and 10 fish over the magical 40lb barrier, with over 90% of them falling to boilie based tactics and those boilies coming from Mainline Baits!
I have featured in Crafty Carper, UK Carp, Angling times, Anglers mail, and Carp-Talk, as well as various Sky Sports shows covering the BYCAC and BCAC. As a consultant for Fox International I also took part in the Fox DVD.
I have been carp fishing now for a little over 10 years and can still remember the day I caught my first carp like it was yesterday. It was caught from a small local day ticket water weighing 7lb 10oz and from that day on I have dedicated most of my life to carp fishing.
Moving on from that small water to the Walthamstow complex in 2001 where fished with my dad almost every weekend for the next 3 years. It was at Walthamstow where I caught my first 30lb carp weighing 35lb 9oz! I went on to land another 30 from there as well as numerous other fish before moving closer to home to concentrate my efforts on the majority of the Mid Kent Fisheries venues. Most of my time was spent on Chilham Mill lake and it was at this venue that I really learned a lot about carp fishing, catching vasts amount of carp in the 4 years I fished there. After Mid Kent I then got the opportunity to fish a water I had long awaited to get on, a deep open pit in Surrey. It was a totally diffent challenge to any other venue I had fished before and it was where I enjoyed the best 3 years fishing of my angling life! Bagging many large carp, including my first UK 40lb carp in 2007 at 43lb 1oz as well as four other 40s during my time.
As well as my own personal fishing, I have been involed with firstly the BCAC where I have enjoyed some great success fishing with my dad winning two qualifiers and taking an overall 3rd in the 2008 final held at Broadlands. From 2006 to 2008 I entered the BYCAC where I also had great success managing to get on the podium in the final every year. Although,my biggest achievement has to be, being involved with what was the NFA Carp team England (Now Angling Trust). This gave me the opportunity to fish in Russia in 2006 when I was just 14 years of age. I have since gone on to fish in 4 other world championship events including South Africa in 2008, France in 2009, England in 2010 and more recently Italy in 2011.
