Fishing since the age of 5, I turned my attentions to carp fishing in 1976, having spent a number of years before that learning my craft whilst match fishing along with a brief spell specialist fishing. Progressing onto carp fishing in the mid 70’s, I caught my very first carp from Hainault lake in Essex – a 21lb 12oz mirror, from that moment I was ‘hooked’ to coin that old cliché and since then I have never looked back! Whilst carp fishing is still my first love, I’m happy fishing for anything that swims and my angling exploits have taken across the world from blue water fishing to the trinity river in Texas where I’ve been lucky enough to catch many exotic species like marlin, tarpon, Nile perch, alligator gar to name just a few.
